Registration for the 2021 Annual Meeting is OPEN!

Welcome, Infusion Industry Leaders!

Join us June 25-June 26, 2021 for the National Infusion Center Association’s (NICA) second annual meeting! This year, we will be taking the meeting fully virtual to ensure that our stakeholders, patients, and loved ones stay as safe and healthy as possible during this challenging time.

NICA has comprehensively vetted a wide variety of virtual meeting options and we have chosen a platform that extends a meaningful experience for both the attendee and the exhibitor. We are confident that connecting virtually for our 2021 Annual Meeting will offer an engaging and informative event, and we are thrilled to bring together a diverse cohort of industry professionals in a safe setting.

Building upon the success of our inaugural meeting in 2019, NICA’s Annual Meeting will provide a premier learning and networking opportunity for healthcare providers, practice managers, industry stakeholders, advocates, and others with stake in the provider-administered medication market. Attendees, partners, and sponsors can look forward to many exciting presentations and discussions centered around the provider-administered medication industry, networking opportunities, as well as enhanced meeting features specific to the virtual environment.

We are looking forward to this second meeting to further facilitate connection and education within the infusion industry!

Here's a look back at NICA's Inaugural Meeting

At the 2019 meeting, NICA welcomed over 500 leaders and professionals in the infusion industry to its inaugural meeting. During the two-day event, attendees participated in thirteen breakout sessions lead by members of leadership from some of the largest and most reputable organizations in the industry. Attendees also had the opportunity to network with peers and colleagues during educational dinner programs, complimentary receptions, and exhibit hall hours.

Keynote Speech: Never Give Up. Never Quit.

On April 10, 2012, United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne was critically injured on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan by an IED (improvised explosive device), losing portions of both legs and both arms. He is one of only five quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive such extensive injuries. Travis now lives an inspiring life as a quadruple amputee – his heroic journey was documented in the award-winning documentary film, Travis: A Soldier’s Story; he has written a New York Times bestselling memoir titled Tough As They Come; he speaks across the country motivating others to live by his motto: “Never give up. Never quit.”; and his foundation recently completed the construction of a fully adaptive veterans retreat in the Belgrade Lakes region in the state of Maine where he hosted over 89 combat injured veterans and their families. For more information about Travis, you may visit: www.travismills.org.

Value Based Payment Models: Why Proving Value is Critical to the Success of Your Infusion Center

It has become well known that the rising cost of Healthcare in the US is unsustainably straining our economy. Long gone are the days when companies or modest taxes easily covered full healthcare benefits.

As costs are increasingly passed on to consumers, the value based concept has become more than yet another cost bending payer profit strategy du jour. It is now central to a much broader range of stakeholders who depend heavily on a well managed risk pool, including families, employers, self-insured corporate plans, population health collaboratives, politicians, and economic development entities, as well as commercial and government payers. With breakthrough pharmaceuticals flooding the therapy pipeline, the value proposition for the efficient and effective delivery of expensive products must be a fundamental consideration for infusion center owners and managers.

This session will be comprised of two parts: 1) introduction to the concepts, mechanics and variations of value based models; and 2) a discussion around implications of VBPMs for infusion centers, including threats, opportunities and changes to the competitive landscape that may alter how you deliver and market your services.
