There are many challenges facing providers when they agree to accept outside referrals. Accepting patients from other specialties can further complicate things. At the same time, many times these patients have no other alternative, being otherwise forced to receive treatment in a local hospital and potentially drive long distances for infusions.

If you have questions or advice about accepting outside referrals and navigating patients from other specialties, please share here!

I am interested to know how other hospital based infusion centers handle outside referrals.
