We were working on a financial simulation to see how the downstream profitability of an in-office infusion center was affected by upstream accuracy issues with inventory, nursing documentation, biller accuracy, and collection capability. We created a new blog post to illustrate these issues and we also created an online calculator so you can evaluate your own in-office infusion leakage.

Was taking a look at your calculator and blog. Very interesting. I was stunned to realize that we would lose so much if anything was less than 100%.

About 50% or more of our patient clientele is Medicare and at 5% margin, I had no idea that for every 1% of leakage it would cost us upwards of 20% loss. Not good at all.

Thank you for your wonderful tool, it’s an eye opener!
