I am wondering what your institution’s policy is for changing securement devices (ie statlock or griplok) for a PICC line. We change our dressing (tegaderm) once a week or prn, and at the same time we change the securement device. I had a friend at another institution tell me they only change the securement if it is soiled or coming loose – so they replace the tegaderm weekly, but replace the securement only prn. What do you all do?
Are the any guidelines that address this? INS perhaps?
Thanks in advance!
