September 2020 Message from the Director

Dear Colleagues,

Happy September! We hope this message finds you well. The NICA team welcomes a new month and new faces while continuing to advocate, influence, and create resources on behalf of your patients and staff. We are excited to dive deeper into some of this past month’s objectives and give a behind-the-scenes look at the NICA team.

NICA 2020 Meeting Exhibitor Recognition social media highlights begin

This month, in an effort to highlight the organizations that planned to exhibit at the 2020 NICA Meeting, NICA began sharing weekly exhibitor recognition highlights on our social media and e-newsletter platforms. While we missed gathering in person with everyone this summer for the annual meeting, we are so grateful for our engaged and inspiring supporters who continue to share their passion and equip the infusion industry to provide the highest quality care to the nation’s patients. Be sure to keep an eye on our social platforms (linked at the end of this e-newsletter) to see all the exhibitor videos and hear what they are most excited about for next year’s meeting!

NICA’s Natural Disaster Resources & Support page updated amidst Hurricane Laura’s landfall

Hurricane season is in full swing for parts of the U.S., and when Hurricane Laura made its way to the south, NICA revamped our Disaster Resources & Support page to ensure that patients are able to safely continue their treatments in the face of natural emergencies, where possible. With hurricanes, wildfires, and other natural disasters becoming more frequent weather phenomena more patients face the possibility of losing access to their infusion and injection sites of care. Our Disaster Resources page features tools that help patients locate open centers near them to ensure treatment access.

Our team has grown!

You may have noticed that the NICA team has grown substantially over the past month. In the last Message from the Director, we introduced you to Corinne May (Chief of Staff) and Kindyl Boyer (Advocacy Coordinator). To introduce you to the people  behind NICA’s resources, advocacy, and messaging, we put together the following “Meet the Team” graphic. We are so excited to band together and work every day to overcome access challenges and offer a unified voice to your patients and staff.

As always, we appreciate your support and we hope you and your patients are remaining safe during this period.

Thank you for your time,

Brian Nyquist, MPH
