Welcome to the Fall 2024 Maine Nursing Preceptor Education Program (MNPEP), a premier professional development opportunity designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of nurse preceptors nationwide. Founded by the Lunder-Dineen Health Education Alliance of Maine, a program of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), MNPEP addresses the critical need for formally trained nurse preceptors across the continuum of care.

About the Program

Established in 2015, MNPEP was developed in response to the growing demand for skilled nurse preceptors who play a pivotal role in the recruitment, integration, and retention of nursing students, new nurses, and transitioning nurses. MNPEP features a curriculum in collaboration with MGH Institute of Health Professions (MGH IHP), offering an engaging and intuitive learning experience.
MNPEP is an evidence-based, blended-learning program that combines the flexibility of online learning with the interactivity of live virtual workshops. The program includes seven asynchronous online modules that participants must complete before attending the live, virtual workshop. The live workshop is held over two half-day sessions, providing an integrated learning experience that fosters the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
