How Government Payment Limits Affect Infusion Centers and Patients

January 21, 2026

Advocacy

Government price setting policies, such as Upper Payment Limits (UPLs) established by Prescription Drug Affordability Boards (PDABs), can have real-world consequences for infusion providers and the patients they serve. The infographic below illustrates how upper payment limits may reduce reimbursement for infusion centers, sometimes below the cost of acquiring and administering a medication, while offering little to no affordability relief for patients. When infusion providers cannot sustain these losses, patient access to provider-administered therapies may be delayed, disrupted, or eliminated altogether.
